"invalid string position" error in Hebrew

Fri Oct 27, 2023 8:26 am

Hi~ Advanced Install,

When a package includes "Hebrew" language in the Build Languages option, an install package produces an "invalid string position".
And then the install package is halted.

Windows 11 Pro 22H2 (Hebrew) Settings
  • Time & languages > Language > Windows display language: Hebrew
  • Time & languages > Language > Preferred languages: Hebrew (first)
  • Time & languages > Region > Country or region: Israel
Running Your Application.msi:

Advanced Installer
  • Version: 21.1
  • Theme: App Installer
  • Language: English, Hebrew
  • Options: Create only a multiple package

Could you let me know how to handle this issue?

Hello,

I have tested this and I can confirm that this indeed is a bug on our side.

I have forwarded this to our development team and hopefully this will be fixed in a future version of Advanced Installer. As soon as the fix will be released we will notify you.

As a workaround solution, you can try unchecking the "WinUI rendering" option from the Themes page --> Settings tab.

Thank you for bringing the issue to our attention. We understand the frustration it may have caused you, and we apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced.

Best regards,
Liviu
