Why doesn't Caphyon integrate SHA-512 file signing methods? I saw they took it back in 10.7.1!

Hi and welcome to Advanced Installer forums.

We tried to integrate SHA256 signing method in Advanced Installer 10.7, but some problems were encountered, so we reverted to SHA1 in version 10.7.1. We will probably introduce again the SHA256 method in version 10.8, also with the possibility to choose between SHA1 and SHA256. For more details you can take a look on the Message:SignTool Error: Invalid options: /fd thread.

Thank you for your reply and I am looking forward to Advanced Installer 10.8 and hope that you also integrate ALL other hash methods (e.g.: SHA512, SHA384).

Hi,

Does AI support SHA256? From the manual Files and Folder page it says it computes a 128-bit hash, which I believe is MD5 level.

Yes, Advanced Installer does support signing your package with a digital certificate whose digest algorithm is SHA256.
