I Am having an issue getting a .NET 4.0/C# Windows Service installed, currently I am testing under Windows 7, 64 bit.
I Have added my service under services and under control operations checked the "Start" under "On Install".
When I run the installer it successfully installs the service, but when it comes to starting it it seems to time out but actually not really attempting to start the service.
Ones the installer hits the first error on timeout, I can actually open services and manually start the service, I can also see that the installer hasn't attempted to start as no logging or similar has happened.
- Is a custom installer custom action class still required as with the Visual Studio Standard installer packages?
- Should I add any additional actions to get it to work? (the http://www.advancedinstaller.com/user-g ... rties.html doesn't say anything additional)
Edit: Never mind, ofc after having puzzled with this over a day and finally getting to where i created a post here i found the issue. Need to set the server name in the Control Operation as well, I thought they where linked as that would have been intuitive to me.
