How to set "Automatic (Delayed Start)" start type for a service installation
The following article uses options that are available starting with the Professional edition and project type.
This article will guide you on how to set "Automatic (Delayed Start)" start type for a service installed by your package.
Let's assume you have configured your Advanced Installer project to install a service. For more information regarding how to achieve this, check our article : How to Create a Java Service Installer (MSI or EXE).
By default, Advanced Installer offers three options for the start type of the services to be installed by the package: Automatic, On demand and Disabled.
Configuring Automatic (Delayed Start) start type
If you need to start the service deployed by the package with Automatic (Delayed Start) follow the steps:
- Go to Services Page
- Create a new Configure Operation
- In the "Setting to change" section pick "Time delay of an auto-start service" option and enter "1" in the "Value" field.
