How to install some files in a folder of a previously installed application?

The following article uses options that are available starting with the Professional edition and project type.

This can be done by following these steps:

1. The first thing you have to do is get the path to the folder where you want to install the files.

2. Go to the "Search" page in order to set up a search. You have several possibilities when choosing what to search for:

• If that application stores the path you need in a registry value you could search for it.
• Search for that folder's name; this is a good idea only if the name ensures that the search will not accidentally find another folder with the same name in the location you have specified. For example, a search for a folder named "bin" in "ProgramFilesFolder" is likely to have more than one possible result.
• Search for a file that you know to be present in the folder you are targeting.

3. Once you have a property holding the path to the folder, you must create a property-based folder.

4. Go to the "Files and Folders" page.

5. Use the “New Folder” toolbar button to create a new property-based folder. In the new window, select the name of the search you have previously created.

6. Place all the files you want to copy to the installed application's location into this folder.
