Importing Project Types

This tab enables you to import various external projects or packages into an Advanced Installer project.

Visual Studio Setup project

Vd importThis wizard allows you to import a Visual Studio setup project into an Advanced Installer project. This project type is available in the freeware edition.

Wix Product

Wix project importThis wizard allows you to import a Wix product in an Advanced Installer project. This project type is available in the freeware edition.

Inno Setup Script

Inno importThis wizard allows you to import an Inno Setup script in an Advanced Installer project. This project type is available in the freeware edition.

NSIS Script

Nsis importThis wizard allows you to import an NSIS script in an Advanced Installer project. This project type is available in the freeware edition.

InstallShield Project

Import isThis wizard allows you to import an MSI project that was previously created with InstallShield. This project type is available in the freeware edition.

WISE Project

Wise importThis wizard allows you to import a WISE project into an Advanced Installer project. This project type is available in the freeware edition.

MSIX Package

Desktop bridge packageThis wizard allows you to import a MSIX/APPX project into an Advanced Installer project. This project type is available in the professional edition.

Importing other types of projects

You can also import a Java Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA Workspace from the Start Page's “Java” menu. MSM files and Wix Module projects can be imported from the Start Page's “Merge Module” menu.

Import App-V 4.x Package

Appv4 import This type of project gives you the possibility to import existing App-V 4.x packages into an MSI Advanced Installer project. Note that this project type requires an Architect license.

Import App-V 5.x Package

Appv5 import This type of project gives you the possibility to import existing App-V 5.x packages into an MSI Advanced Installer project. Note that this project type requires an Architect license.

Import ThinApp Project Folder

Thin app This type of project gives you the possibility to import existing ThinApp project folders and edit them using the Advanced Installer GUI. Note that this project type requires an Architect license.
